Community Conversations: Immigration and Charlotte

Community Conversations: Immigration and Charlotte

The United States has always been shaped by individuals and families who arrived, built, and transformed the country. In this conversation we will discuss how immigrant and migrant communities contribute to Charlotte’s culture, economy, and identity while also navigating uncertainty, barriers, and questions of belonging. Expect to leave the conversation with an historical understanding of immigration in Charlotte and more information about how to connect directly with organizations working to support immigrants and their families.

At Levine Museum of the New South, we connect the past to the future to build a stronger, more equitable community; one where every person and every story help to create the promise of a New South. Today and every day, Charlotte is the strongest when we recognize and celebrate the rich diversity that brings life to our city.

Levine Museum is proud to partner with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina to help ensure families across our region have access to the food and essentials they need. From now through Dec. 12, we’re collecting nonperishable items at the VAPA Center to support Second Harvest’s mission to feed families, stock local food pantries, and strengthen our community.

We encourage everyone attending out Dec. 4 program to bring canned goods to support this important cause!
