Create, dance, sing, learn, and celebrate Women’s History Month with Levine Museum! 

Levine Museum joins the National Women’s History Alliance in celebrating the 2023 theme, “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories.”

Bring your family & friends and meet us for a day filled with arts & crafts activities inspired by this year’s theme, pop-up performances throughout the day, story time, historical insights, and more.

Extra points for dressing up as your favorite shero! You’ll get to hit the stage and show & tell us who you’re paying tribute to.

You’ll also get the chance to visit with and learn more about the following organizations: Girl Scouts – Hornets’ Nest, Project Scientist, Mixed Metaphors, League of Women Voters, and Royal Academy of Irish Dance. 

Schedule of Performances: 

 

12:05 Criss Cross Mangosauce  

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) story time through music celebrating women!

12:45 Take A Breather

  • 15-minute breathing exercises open to all ages and experience levels. Learn tools for daily wellness with the entire family to help with anxiety, boost energy, and increase blood flow in the body.

1:00 Dances of India 

  • Enjoy a beautiful performance by the students of Dr. Maha Gingrich.

1:30 My Shero with Patrice Wilson!

  • Enjoy poetry by Patrice Wilson and showcase your Shero. Show & tell us who you’re paying tribute to!

1:50 Mixed Metaphors 

  • Pop up interactive performance with Mixed Metaphors

2:00 Ramona Moore Big Eagle (Tuscarora/Cherokee)

  • Learn about the story of Turtle Island and Sky Women with oral historian and legend keeper of the Tuscarora Nation of North Carolina, Ramona Moore Big Eagle.

2:40 Royal Academy of Irish Dance 

  • Experience a traditional Irish dance performance by students of the Royal Academy of Irish Dance.

3:00 Mixed Metaphors

  • Pop up interactive performance with Mixed Metaphors

3:30 Liza Ortiz 

  • Dance and enjoy cool tunes with Liza Ortiz to close out our family day while “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories.”

 

This educational and celebratory family day is free and open to all.

Join us at Project Enough’s Reproductive Justice Day on March 25th at the VAPA Center.  An afternoon to explore the Reproductive Justice movement’s history, present and future through visual art, artifacts, discussion panels, storytelling and a resource fair.
