Keep History Accessible
in Charlotte and beyond
As we approach the end of the fiscal year, we wanted to share news about the impact and accomplishments that have been made possible by supporters like you! To date, we have engaged with over 250,000 people, using history to build community through our digital offerings and in-person programs and events.
Community Engagement
We have engaged with the community through festivals, celebrations and community awareness events like MLK Day, Charlotte SHOUT and the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival, as well as through our award winning Our New South podcast which has over 189k downloads to date.
National Recognition
The efforts of Levine Museum of the New South have reached national recognition with the recent award of 2025 best museum in North Carolina by Conde Nast Traveler. Telling the story of Charlotte’s history, we have been a must-see institution for over 30 years.
Educational Impact
We have impacted close to 7,000 area students through our K-12 initiatives, professional development workshops, in-person tours and collaborative efforts with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools and area nonprofits. “The interactive exhibits are the biggest take aways for students as they are able to immerse themselves in the history.” – Middle School Teacher
We’re excited about the future! As we get ready to announce our new location later this year, we’ll stay active in the community, ensuring there is access to meaningful, relevant history through a myriad of exciting and educational programs to come. To support our continued impact in Charlotte and beyond, please consider making a gift by June 30. Your gift will fuel inspiring programs, events, and experiences for the year ahead – we can’t do it without generous donors like you!
