Entrepreneurial success is often celebrated as the result of individual determination and hard work. Yet behind every thriving business, creative endeavor, or community initiative is a network of people, institutions, and supporters who help make that success possible.

Inspired by the ideas explored in No One Is Self-Made by Dr. Key Hallmon, this Community Conversation will bring together local entrepreneurs, creatives, and civic leaders to explore the collective systems that help innovative ideas grow. Through stories of collaboration, mentorship, community investment, and mutual support, panelists will reflect on the people and partnerships that have shaped their journeys and strengthened Charlotte’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Join us for a conversation about what it means to build a village, why support is an action rather than a sentiment, and how communities can work together to create opportunities for everyone to thrive. The discussion will serve as a prelude to the museum’s upcoming program featuring Dr. Key Hallmon and her work on collective entrepreneurship and community-centered success. The book challenges the myth of the self-made entrepreneur and argues that lasting success is built through intentional networks, collective support, and shared prosperity.
