This week’s Wednesday Night Live experience will include a self-guided exhibition tour and a free community film screening of La Pecera/The Fishbowl.

First, experience Climates of Inequality: a public memory project focused on communities that contributed the least to the climate crisis but bear its heaviest burdens. Then, enjoy the Southeast premiere of La Pecera/The Fishbowl, an official selection of the World Dramatic Competition at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Stick around for a 10-minute pre-recorded Q&A with La Pecera’s director, Glorimar Marrero!

Parking

Guests can park at the Levine Center for the Arts garage, located below the Duke Energy Center at 550 S Tryon St. Another option is the parking garage below The Green 435 S Tryon St. Parking is $5 after 5 pm.

 

About the Film

As her cancer spreads, Noelia ultimately decides to return to her native Vieques, Puerto Rico, and claim her freedom to decide her own fate. She reunites with her friends and family, who are still dealing with the contamination of the U.S. Navy after 60 years of military practices.

Wednesday Night Live

Presented by Bank of America, Wednesday Night Live includes free admission to the Levine Center of the Arts four museums between 5-9 p.m. every Wednesday, as well as live entertainment or programming at one of the four institutions each week.

As Charlotte wraps up its annual Charlotte Black Pride Week festivities and gears up for its annual Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade, the Levine Museum invites you to an intimate night of storytelling spotlighting our local LGBTQIA+ community. Join us for a celebration as members of our community share their experiences through spoken word, historical insights, and personal monologues.

Light bites will be provided, and drinks are available for purchase.
