Juneteenth Festival of The Carolinas – 2026
The Juneteenth Festival of The Carolinas returns to Plaza Midwood on Saturday, June 20 and Sunday, June 21.
Join us on Saturday, June 20, when Catalyst Fellow Sarah Nti will lead an interactive booth inviting visitors—particularly young people—to engage with history, connect with community organizations, civic leaders, and elected officials, and explore opportunities for civic engagement. All within a vibrant festival featuring performances, art, and food.
“The Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas was started to share the history of chattel slavery in the USA and to commemorate its historical ending. The major intent of the festival is to examine the cultural heritage of enslaved Africans and their descendants through art, education, and research.”
Pape S. Ndiaye,
Juneteenth Festival of the Carolinas, Founder and President
