The School of Good Citizenship, in partnership with Levine Museum, present Counting Up: What’s on Your Ballot, a virtual exhibit (opening August 20th) that features the work of seventeen artists sharing what voting means to them.
In a conversation, moderated by independent curator Jonell Logan, Nora Ligorano and Marshall Reese, founders of The School of Good Citizenship, and featured artists, Natalie Jones, Owens Daniels, and Peri Law discuss the selected art featured in the exhibit. Dr. Willie Griffin kicks off the discussion with brief historical insight behind voting. Artists will share how they use their artistic expression to engage in conversations centered on social justice and voting rights.
Join us for part one of a three part series of conversations around art, voting rights, the historical issues behind voting rights and the consequences when those rights are restricted.
