DESCRIPTION:Charlotte’s own ÚltimaNota performs an intimate, unplugged-style, live acoustic set at The Long Room. Led by guitarist Tony Arreaza, ÚltimaNota’s Spanish-language songs blend Latin rhythms with pop, funk, and blues guitar.\nThe night will feature stories about the band’s history and the lyrics of some songs for and about Charlotte’s immigrant communities. Additionally, you’ll enjoy performances by local Latinx musicians Bakalao Stars, Dunny Méndez, La Brava, and Wanda López.\nYou’ll be the first to hear the live performance of their latest single, “Soy De Todos Lados,” featuring La Brava!\nCome early and enjoy light refreshments courtesy of Manolo’s Bakery (while supplies last), help us kick off Welcoming Week and get ready to enjoy an evening of Latin rhythms and storytelling!\nDrinks will be available for purchase, and free parking is available on-site.\nBuy Tickets\n\n\nSponsor this program\n\nÚltimaNota was founded in 2009 in Charlotte, North Carolina with members hailing from Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico, El Salvador and Dominican Republic.\nThe band fuses new with old, English with Spanish, and traditional latin rhythms with pop, funk, and blues guitars to create a fresh and modern sound. Influenced by a broad range of musical styles from Buena Vista Social Club to Bob Marley to Hector Lavoe, ÚltimaNota is known for creating covers with a uniquely characteristic twist.\nOn March 12, 2022, ÚltimaNota released a full-length album of 12 original songs that features local Latinx artists and highlights the diversity of latin music styles created in Charlotte.\nThe album’s single, “Mi Sueño” which translates to “My Dream,” a tribute to immigrants was nominated for “Best Music Video” at the 2022 Official Latino Film & Arts Festival in Palm Springs, CA.\n\n\n
