Dialogues

One circle. One shared experience. A multitude of takeaways.

Dialogue is one of the foundational programs at Levine Museum. As we work daily to use history to build community, dialogue (group learning conversations) enables us to bring in both intact and mixed groups for a chance to share perspectives on the topics highlighted in our permanent and travelling exhibits.

Trained facilitators lead groups through ice breakers, tours and learning activities before engaging in discussions designed to create group learning and individual understanding around a variety of themes.

Ideal for team-building, diversity training, and cultural competence, our changing dialogue programs give groups space to go more in-depth into topics that resonate with today’s world.

K(NO)W Justice K(NO)W Peace Dialogue Series

Join us as we explore protest, policing, and the historical context in which police-involved shootings occur through a structured program facilitated by a Museum Educator. This small-group gathering is neither a debate nor a simple conversation, but rather an opportunity for individual and group learning as participants share ideas, assumptions, and experiences.

Cost: $250 for corporate and $150 for non-profit

Dialogues are available Tues./Thurs. 6-8 p.m. and Weds 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Levine Museum of the New South.

K(NO)W Justice K(NO)W Peace is a community-created exhibit about police-involved shootings throughout the nation and in Charlotte. Co-created with activists and law enforcement, the media, students, clergy and civic leaders, K(NO)W Justice K(NO)W Peace explores the historical roots of the distrust between police and community, tells the human stories beyond the headlines, and engages viewers in creating constructive solutions. The exhibition also captures the voices of local police, protesters, emergency personnel, faith leaders and others reflecting on their personal experiences during Charlotte’s protests.
