Focus on Justice

Photos of Civil Rights protests -- as much as the protests themselves -- helped all the world understand what African Americans had long known, that this nation must change. This exhibit, curated by Charlotte photographer Byron Baldwin,  presents the work of press photographers who covered Civil Rights in the Carolinas during the 1950s and 1960s, and examines the role of media in creating and documenting history.

Exhibit Size:

80-100 running feet

Includes 33 photographs and 12 text panels
