Changing Times…Changing Minds: Charlotte's Changing Workforce
Wednesday, March 17
5:30 p.m.
Join us for a conversation and cocktail reception presented in partnership with Education Sponsor UNC Charlotte as part of their monthly Changing Places community conversation series.
Held at the Museum on the third Wednesday of each month, the series features panelists from across the community and the university and builds on themes and topics in the Changing Places exhibit. Led by the College of Business, the March program will explore "Charlotte's Changing Workforce: Trends and Outlooks for Jobs and Recovery."
Economic experts and business leaders agree that creating jobs is the key to the nation's and our region's economic recovery. The past 18 months have had a dramatic impact on the Charlotte workforce, but in fact the recession is another chapter in a story of changing employment trends that began several decades ago.
Join Dr. Joseph Mazzola, Dean of the Belk College of Business at UNC Charlotte, as he leads a panel discussion with three community leaders whose insight on jobs will help shape our region's future. Panelists include:
Dan DiMicco, Chairman and CEO, Nucor Corp.
Matt Martin, Senior Vice President and Charlotte Regional Executive, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond
Dr. John Connaughton, Professor of Economics in the Belk College and Director of the UNC Charlotte Economic Forecast for North Carolina
Admission is free. For more information or to register, visit: video.uncc.edu/conversations/
