A number of school groups tour the Museum, including all Mecklenburg County 8th graders!

We need committed volunteers to help guide students through the Museum and our exhibit Cotton Fields to Skyscrapers during the school year. No prior experience or history certification required! All New South residents - native southerners as well as newcomers to Charlotte - are welcome. It promises to be a fun and rewarding use of your time. 100 students per day tour the Museum and rely on volunteers as guides!

New South Guides receive many benefits - including access to the Museum's Guide Library, a free individual Museum membership, discounts on Museum Store purchases, and invitations to special museum events.

In addition to 8th graders and school groups, we use guides for elementary-age and adult groups, and occasional weekend groups.
